Are you tired of organising the same old Christmas party, which often involves tucking into a traditional festive meal, pulling some crackers and then dancing the night away to long-forgotten chart hits and, of course, some Slade and Wizzard?

Try something that goes against the grain this festive season then and give one of these Christmas parties with a twist a go — your employees are sure to be thankful your initiative:

Offer alternative entertainment

What better way to think outside of the box when organising your next Christmas party than by choosing to arrange some alternative entertainment instead.

Wyboston Lakes, for instance, are currently taking bookings for Christmas parties which are themed around musical tribute nights, casino nights and those set in awe-inspiring winter wonderland settings.

Add a Christmas event into the mix

Cities all across the UK are transformed at Christmas, with streets and venues playing host to festive markets, pop-up ice skating rinks and pantomimes.

Instead of talking about attending each of these with your colleagues in the office, choose to organise an excursion to each of them before finishing the night with some food and drinks.

There is so much that you can craft and cook leading up to Christmas, so choose to spread the joy by organising a Christmas party that revolves around creating things such as:

  • Wreathes
  • Christmas tree ornaments
  • Christmas cards

You could go down the culinary route too by learning how to make such festive treats as egg nog, mulled wine and mince pies.

Make sure you have plenty of food and drink on offer as well, so that your guests will be able to have plenty of laughs – and have stuff to take home at the end of the day/night.

Festive scavenger hunt

Make your Christmas party a team-building exercise by organising a scavenger hunt around the region in which your workplace is based.

Setting one up is simple…

  1. Pick out between five and ten venues for guests to visit during the scavenger hunt — perhaps clients and stakeholders have locations which could serve as stops?
  2. At each venue, have a fun challenge that the team will need to complete before they can move on to the next location. Maybe guests will need to eat something particularly unusual or sing the entire chorus of a well-known Christmas song.
  3. Set up flags or stamps at each of these venues, so that there is proof that a team has been to all the locations listed on the scavenger hunt.
  4. Make the last venue the place where your main Christmas party is being held. As an added incentive, offer a prize to the team who gets to the location first — free drink vouchers or a complimentary team meal for a later date, for example.

Takeaway

There are loads of other ways on how to make your office Christmas party a memorable one. Just wear your creative hat and get ready to impress your staff!
